1. Have you ever gone fishing? yup... don't care for it.

2. Do you have an aquarium? yup... but the fish died earlier this week. :(

3. Do you eat fish? sometimes but not often

4. Have you ever seen Finding Nemo? Nope but I would if given the time and opportunity.

5. What do you think of Sushi? That it would be much more appealing and safe if it were ( Read more... )

Would it make you feel better to know that the fish isn't technically raw? By law in this country, it has to be cured in a certain way before it can be served to diners. So it looks raw, but it's not.

In Japan, of course, things are different.

I don't like "raw" fish either... actually I don't like fish very much in general (although I'm trying to explore some different ways to cook it since its supposed to be so healthy), but I LOVE sushi. NOT the raw kind... but California roll, Shrimp or chicken tempora roll, Westminster roll... there are so many options that are completely cooked. Some of the nicer sushi places have extensive menus and really interesting combos... and many of them are cooked, not raw.

I couldn't stand the thought of sushi a few years ago, and then I tried a california roll at a local japanese place... and I was SOLD! :)

Errr.... I'll keep that in mind... Maybe if I went with someone who isn't trying to make me sick and also knows a lot about it I might have a chance. When I'm alone, I look at the dozens of options with a blank stare and order something warm that has chicken in it. :) I've been trying to eat more tuna and salmon as well just for the health benefits but in general, sea food isn't my thing. Shrimp makes my skin itch so I try to stay away from it. I know that sounds ridiculous but it seems like I always get some type of rash after I eat it. It works out since I can only tolerate the taste and texture fried anyway... and I am trying to stay away from the fried stuff. :)

It doesn't sound werid at all that shrimp makes your skin itch. Tons of people are allergic to shell fish... and some more than others. You probably have a slight allergy. If I remember correctly, Candy a.k.a. Oceanstorm, is allergic to shell fish. My father is horribly allergic... throat swells and he gets hives all over him!

I must say... I'm SO glad I'm not allergic to shell fish... cause although I am not a fan of fish... I LOVE shrimp, scallops, crab and lobster! yum yum yum! lol
