Plots: fiddleheads and fern fronds

I’ve been playing with some major plot revisions on my work in progress, after getting feedback from my editor and agent. My story, as it stands today, has a lot going on. It’s full of action and allusions to even more action that happens offstage. Just as things get interesting in one part of the story, we speed off to another. So I’m pondering
