Pam, Tim, and River weren't sitting on the couch for very long before there was a loud pounding on her door. She jumped up from the couch and hurried to the door. She didn't even peer through the peephole before yanking it open.

When she saw Jim, she started to cry again and immediately threw herself at him.

Jim nearly stumbled backwards when she latched herself onto him. His arms immediately wrapped around her as best as he could,

"Shh, easy," he murmured, his hand going up into her hair to stroke it gently.

"It's you, right, Jim?" she asked, her words muffled by the front of his shirt.

He brushed the hair away from her face and kissed her forehead.

"Yeah, it's me," he assured. "Are you okay? How's the baby?"

His hand moved to rest on her stomach, almost protectively.

She smiled up at him through her tears.

"She's okay. She was kicking like heck when I woke up," she replied.

River hung back, staying on the sofa because she didn't want to interrupt. She was very happy to see Jim, even if he and Pam were blocking the doorway for Mal and Veronica. She was glad to see Jim, but the sight of Mal's head past his made her grin. Now that she wasn't feeling lost and scared, she thought maybe this might be an interesting adventure in Scranton.

Jim eventually managed to pry himself from Pam and brightened a little when he saw River. It was a comfort somewhat to know the people he most cared about were still with him. It'd make what was going on easier.

"Looks like it's your turn to see my world, huh?" he asked. "Hey, River."

"Yes. I haven't seen much yet, but I kind of like it, now that we more or less know what's going on." River grinned at him, glad this didn't really seem to be one of the island's meaner tricks. "I feel like I ought to be taking notes, though," she admitted. "For writing a paper about historical things, like when we went on museum trips for school."

"Wow. You act like we're some kind of ancient relics or something," he said with a laugh. "Though, I do kind of wish your first Earth experience wasn't...here. We're a pretty boring example."

Veronica hovered in the doorway, most of her uncertainty coming from feeling out of place at all. It was a sickly familiar feeling, in a distant kind of way, one she hadn't had to endure in a long time. But this was still wrong and the longer she was here, the more she thought about it, the more she felt the desperate urge to piece the clues together, solve the puzzle and go home. Ducking past Jim, she eased into the room to take a further look around.

When Pam finally turned away from Jim, she spotted Veronica. "Hey," she said softly as she stood next to her.

"You alright?" she asked, stepping closer to wrap her arms around her.

"Peachy keen," Veronica promised, returning the hug. The gesture came more easily now than it had a year ago, and, for a moment, she laid her head against Pam's shoulder. "I totally needed a vacation anyway. I'm just hoping the Doctor counts this as an excused absence."

Pam snorted and pulled away. "Well, if he doesn't, I'll just write you a note," she replied. "Think that would work?"

When Jim walked in the door, Tim's relief was palpable. He nodded politely to everyone else, smiling, glad that at least something was going right. It didn't really change the fact that he was apparently in Scranton Pennsylvania.

And Bridget was not.

So it didn't eliminate any of his problems, actually, but things seemed a little more solid, at least. Certainly more cope-able.

To be honest, being in Scranton had become a lot less stressful now that he knew everyone he cared about was with him. When he was sure Pam had calmed down enough, he headed over to say hello.

"Welcome to Scranton, I guess," he said, clapping a friendly hand on his shoulder.
