You can find some nice looking clothes at Target and Old Navy - at least buy a few pieces at these places and mix/match with more name brand clothes.

Good idea; I bet Target has some good stuff and Old Navy is right next to Macy's.

Old Navy has a few useful and cheap work sweaters this year, and some decent semi-dress pants. Seconding Ann Taylor Loft, too.

I second what Lisa said about Target. Do you have Charlotte Russe in Chicago?

We do, and I usually stop in there when I'm shopping for cute stuff. But I rarely end up buying anything! So I'll probably skip it this time in favor of Ann Taylor, lol.

I did go to Target and got a good amount of cute & appropriate work wear. Only tops-- they had not a single pair of decent dress pants. Also, it seems every other person who shops at Target wears the same size at me. A little irritating. But worth it, so thanks for the suggestion.
