The Here and Now

There's a book called The Power of Now. Back when I was taking The Artist's Way classes, the instructor told us that book should be on our reading lists. I found a copy at a thrift store or a yard sale and bought it - but never did read it.

I know I have trouble living "in the now." My head is always somewhere else... in the past, in the future

That's what's happening with a lot of places. Netflix killed Hollywood Video, and I think Blockbuster will be next.

I fear someday in the not so distant future we'll have all sorts of empty buildings everywhere that remain empty because almost everything can be purchased for cheaper on the internet.

oh, B, that's my fear, too!

The Longs near me went out of business, and it's been empty over a year now. I just know it'll be empty for years to come.

A WalMart near me closed as well - because they decided to open an even bigger one down the road. Well - who's going to move into a big abandoned Walmart building? It's ugly - and it' just takes up space now.

*sigh*

There's a Target near me that moved to a different location (like 3 miles down the road), and the building has been empty for 2 years
