Built on a cliff overlooking the river, the city of Yaxchilán is only accessible by boat. The jungle is actively reclaiming the ruins. I felt that if I stood still for too long, plants would start growing on me!
I forgot to mention spotting crocodiles on the river bank and the fact that on the boat ride back, the sky opened up and started POURING down rain on us. Half the party had left their rain gear behind after being lulled into a false sense of security with the nice weather we had been having (but I had mine). Many of the most memorable moments never get captured by the camera.
It's nice to know that someone is appreciating what I did manage to photograph.

As it should be, really. Who wants to live their life through a viewfinder?
