i've requested a book called A Girl Named Zippy from the library, by Haven Kimmel. Have to admit it is the fact she's called Zippy that attracted me. Got a Shaggs CC coming mny way from the library as well. A local library round here has a Daniel Johnston biog which is good. Looking for a copy of the Kathy McCarty DJ cover album.

Hiya Pammy !! I'VE got that K. McCarty CD, Jo found it for me in her record shop a while back. Shame I've no way to tape it for you. It's really great ! If I ever see another copy I'll mail it your way !
Last book I bought was a massive, incredibly heavy A-Z of typography, in the just-opened remainder bookshop in Kensington Gardens, along from my shop. Plus scored a couple of great concrete poetry catalogues over the weekend - hideously pricey, but how often do you see 'em ? A good prompt to make me get rid of less interesting stuff - which paid for them twice over ! See ya...

Just been looking to see if you've added any more interests. Had a brainwave whilst reading through your list, another of those conceptual musical stupidnesses of ours : just imagine Tortoise covering Turtles songs... ! Math rock versions of You Showed Me, Can I Get To Know You Better and A Guide For The Married Man. Or perhaps not... :) I love The Turtles... esp. Battle Of The Bands sleeve !!
In this week's NME there was a list of (yawn) the hundred greatest albums of all time, and they asked celebrities to choose theirs... someone chose The Shaggs' Philosophy Of The World !! Oh, just looked it up and it was Brian of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, their nice speccy drummer. (They're COOL, tho' have scarcely heard them. Jo loves them, and I trust her taste.)
