Yay, good to find a fellow magic!SGA fan :). There are some with the sci-fi Stargate setting here, like Calling Down has, and some with sorta-kinda fantasy setting, but all of them great :) (OK, the ones I read surely - so not everything on this list YET).

I did a search on http://community.livejournal.com/sgagenrefinders/ recently, and didn't put the findings on this list yet, if you are interested.

Aaand, if you have as little time as me, I can send you my recs from this list (the best of the best).

Well thank you, pampalini. I pretty much browse lists like these when I've got an itch to read, so time isn't an issue. But recs are always grinned upon! :) I might have to check out that search. I ADORE sgagenrefinders! One of my fav comms in SGA fandom, and I wish to the almighty heavens there were more of these things in other fandoms. LOL

One suggestion, and please ignore if it's already here (but didn't see it so), the Gifts series by Leah and Springwolf. Those with the ancient gene have special powers like lie detection, shield generation, and charming. Don't know if that would fit your list, but thought I'd throw out the suggestion anyways. It's a fun series!!

sgagenrefinders and sgastoryfinders are definitely among my favs too - they keep me interested in SGA and at this point that's not a small feat :).

Thanks for the suggestion. I love the Gifts series and was very happy to see the (relatively) new part on sgabigbang 2009, but I think I'll have to put in a new category (like "borderline magic-users" or something similar) and put it there, because (if I remember correctly, never a given) at no point in the stories are they called/think they of themselves as magicians/wizards/whatevers. I tried to hold the thema of the thematic list simple, I'm not sure I succeeded there :)
