Ahahaha!! This is an amazing conversation, and should most certainly be praised. Because it is true. I even had a fairly reasonable time with learning Japanese because I started young, but even then you would look at the characters, then look at the English translation, and want to throw up your hands in despair. Because SERIOUSLY, there is NO matching there at all. ksbfjbweigfujhvc

As I understand it, Chinese is incredibly hard to learn. It's very possible that spilling your small intestine all over the carpet may actually be the more enjoyable option.

(I'm just kidding, I'm sure it's a wonderful language.)

I consider Japanese and Chinese to be equally difficult to learn from a native English-speaker's perspective. Because Chinese has like, five gazillion characters and really obnoxious pronunciation, but Japanese has incredibly difficult grammar and the keigo politeness nonsense, so it all evens out in the end.

Ugh. I'd say we should all just speak English, but then I'd be out of a job, so WHATEVER. ;P

(Both languages, of course, are beautiful in their own right, but in that scary demon way.)
