Today at work we had an office meeting, and my boss started talking about some of the problems she's seen in regard to personnel.

One of the bullet points was totally "Initiative Imbalance"

And it was hilarious, because she waxed on politely, using various PC ways to describe it, but we all clearly knew that what she meant to say was "some people ( Read more... )

I love that she called it "Initiative Imbalance."

Also, I hate to be negative about the whole headache thing (and I'm actually trying very hard not to giggle and point and say "Hah, now you KNOW!" because I'm a nice person, really, if you get in there deep enough), but given my history with them... an easy fix is not likely. I hope it's just your diet, and that something's just setting them off and if you can just stop eating whatever it is, they'll stop. Because honestly, I wouldn't really wish my headaches on anyone, let alone you. But yeah, the medical world has NO IDEA what causes headaches, aside from their various diet related guesses or if it's a result of some other ailment, and so it's hard to fix.

And really, 2-3 times a month isn't so bad. And if they do end up giving you meds, be careful. I've had nothing but bad experiences with headache meds. That could just be me, though.

Hope you find out what's wrong and get rid of them. I'll cross my fingers for you.

See, yeah, that's why I haven't been bemoaning my fate or whatever, cos 2-3 times a month? It's long enough that by the time I get the next headache, I've forgotten precisely how much the previous sucked (until I get the next one; then it all comes rushing back.) The only reason I'm not just dealing with it (other than my need for anti-nausea medication, cos seriously) is because when I wake up with one of those headaches, it's like, "BAM. Any plans you had today? GONE. Including work." Which sucks. And re: solution -- I think I was encouraged by the fact that it probably wasn't migraines, based on the symptoms, though the doctor did say that random headaches weren't much better. I know that it's likely not going to be easy, but at least this doctor is taking the time to walk through it with me.

Also, Mega-chi, if anyone is allowed to be negative about my headache issues, it's you. ♥

I think you should totally use "Initiative Imbalance" at work today. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO.
