OMG THIS IS GOING TO BE HARD WTF
But yeah, I totally started. And I'm writing a fanfic instead of doing an original story. Why? Because bite me, that's why. :P
BUT HEY, HERE'S A SNIPPIT FROM THE BEGINNING.
The earth was charred black.
Aang almost couldn’t bring himself to step forward, feeling a deep urge to turn away and start retching, but he resolutely set his jaw. Swallowing away the nausea in his throat, Aang took a deep breath and moved his feet over the destroyed grass. The ashy remnants left dark streaks on his boots.
“We’re too late,” murmured Toph beside him. Her tone was cold.
Aang looked over at her, relieved to look at something other than the scene in front of him. Her eyes were focused on nothing, as usual, but her chin was tilted up, nose in the air. Even without her earthbending, Aang knew that she could smell the charred buildings and burnt bodies as clearly as he could see them.
It had been a small village; probably less than fifteen families had lived in the valley. Aang knew from experience that many of the adult men were likely still unaware of their families’ fate, as many of them had been drafted by the Earth King during the last years of Sozin’s war, and hadn’t yet been released. Even still, he could see signs of ruptured earth through the devastation: someone had tried to fight back, however fruitless it had been.
Aang swallowed again, tasting copper in the air. He made a face, confident that Toph at least couldn’t see the way his eyes were beginning to tear up. He turned to her, asking, “Is there anyone-?”
“No,” answered Toph succinctly. Her bare toes dug into the ashy dirt as she stretched out her senses toward the village.

SEE? SEE? Doesn't it sound all BRIGHT and CHEERY and HAPPY?
Also, ignore all grammar whatevers; I officially don't give a shit until December 1. :)
