Basically bret hart was leaving to wcw but didnt want to loose the title in his home town so wanted to loose via disqualification and release the title the next night.

Obviously wwe didn't want this to happen,because then he would go into wcw like the man etc so the though fuck that and hbk put the shar shooter on bret and then the referee rang the bell saying bret gave up when he didn't

Bret hart then battered vince mcmahon and hates shawn michaels forever
Bret Hart has a different side of the story that he should've been aloud to release the title his way because of all his hard work but well tough luck

and shawn mihcaels is and always will be hated in canada because of this whenever he steps foot in canada they say "you screwed bret"
