Aw, sweetie. Sometimes it just sucks to be a grown-up. But tomorrow's another day. One foot in front of the other. Chin up. You can do it.
That said, I've just got to ask -- how's your blood sugar these days, hmmmmmm? Are you taking care of yourself? Still dealing with insomnia? When the body isn't getting the TLC it needs, the spirit suffers. Truly.
Healthy food, good rest, fresh air and exercise, good friends, servant's heart. You know all this stuff. Do it, my dear Leighton. Says your Momma Wordbyrd, with a gentle hug and a nudge. :)
I could tell you what my blood sugar is, but you wouldn't like the answer. So, I'll just say that it's on the lower end between 0 and 1000. That sounds pretty good if you look at it a certain way.
You're a big boy. You know what your blood glucose levels should be, fasting as well as before and after meals. And you have a good sense of what kinds of foods cause a spike in those levels and the foods that metabolize more slowly. You know how you feel after you've had a high-carb load -- sleepy & slow, right? And how you feel when your blood sugar is too low -- jittery, sweaty, fumbling for words.
It isn't easy and it isn't fun to deal with this. It's just what it is. You can choose to manage this in a healthy way or ignore your body's signals and suffer the consequences. You have youth on your side right now and can weather the spikes, for the most part, I suspect. But you know and I know that respecting and honoring the body that you were given, in all its imperfection (and we are all imperfect), is sensible and right.
A little tough love from MommaWB, who cares about you.
