I am convinced that health visitors only do that job because they can't do anything else. I still remember the one who demonstrated 'bathing the baby' to a group of first time expectant mums and the doll's arm fell off.
Congratulations on being able to write so much with one hand - it's impressive.
Oh, health visitors always have to treat you like you are five. My friend, who is a nurse, on baby 3, was complaining about how hers gave her a lecture on the importance of hand washing! I wish we could do as my Mum, but these days we won't be allowed to. When the health vistor knocked on the door to visit my new born baby brother (I was 2 and a half, I don't remember!) my Mum said 'where were you two years ago when I was in a caravan in the middle of nowhere with my first baby? I don't need you now, I know what I'm doing!' and slammed the door in her face!
Babies (and children) should be doing so and so by this age rules are not rules, but guidelines. sounds like Mini knows her own body and is ready to try out the odd solid food. We had instincts for millions of years and survived as a species, long before targets and guidelines and health visitors.
