Summary: Before they were Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs, before they formed Hogwarts' own unofficial Werewolf pack, before they became the youngest Animagi ever unknown, before they marched as soldiers in a clandestine and doomed Order, they were boys with secrets and a love for things that glowed in the dark.

Notes: This was my Shaggy Dog Swap fic. HUGE thank you to and Annie who was there all along (and explained the Great Mystery of the British Pasty) and the army that saved me last minute - Dominique, Jamie, gunsandpocky, grandilloquism, and nerak_rose. This baby really did take a village. I was so lucky with the art I was assigned, as it proved incredibly inspiring, and was my desktop background for the entire fest. While Changelings is written for a Remus/Sirius fest, I ended up writing more of a Marauders story than just theirs. After all, how can you write two of the Marauders without writing all of them? It would be a crime.
A note on vernacular: Some of the characters (like Remus and Lily) grew up around at least a few Muggles and use the same exclamations and swear words, but people like the Blacks, who wouldn’t know a refrigerator if it fell on their face, are more likely to reference the stars, Merlin, the Founders, or witch burnings (i.e. “Burn it!” instead of “Damn it!”).
