I had only met you once, at FWA '07. I still have the memory of you sitting to my right, at that little table in the Sheraton common area.
Since then, I guess I fell into the same trap as many others... Those you don't hear or see frequently don't get the attention that they deserve. We kept in touch via LJ, but that was about it.
I saw this last LJ post yesterday, calling out for support, and yet, I didn't make any gesture of the kind. I failed you. Your passing is a wake-up call to us all, to reach out to those friends & acquaintances from whom we've drifted apart. Reading the other comments here, I really wish I had taken the time to get to know you better.
So many wonderful memories from the old days when Pandaguy, TJCoyote and I roomed together at cons... I would 'torture' PG by singing horribly and he would throw a plushie at me. I also fondly remember we would use some of the helium he brought for balloons to have a Captain Janeway sound-alike contest. Good times... Will miss you, my old friend. Knew you for nearly 15 years and cons won't be the same without you. :(
I remember meeting PG at the Texas Furrycon in Austin, and driving him around the city because he wanted to see it. He was starting to have health problems then. It seems that they finally overwhelmed him.
You were a kind, creative and gentle man, and far more unhappy than you deserved to be. May you find peace and joy in the arms of the almighty, and the love that eluded you all these many years. Until we meet again my friend, peace be upon your soul.
