Hi guys! Here's another chapter~ No Shinobu or Chihiro again, and not a whole lot happens either, but we do get to see more of Hoshino's feisty side! ;D

It's now December (two months after their hectic cultural festival), and Hikaru and Hoshino are watching the opening première of Aoi Erika's movie, "First Love", that was filmed at their school. Once again, Hoshino tears up over the last tragic scene of the film, and muses to herself that she wants to follow in Erika's footsteps and one day became an actress like her. When Erika speaks to the crowd after the film ends, she notices Hoshino and smiles at her. She then cheekily turns to Hikaru and blows him a kiss, which once again sends Hoshino into a fit of jealousy. As Erika leaves the stage, she says to herself, “Hurry up and come into my world (of showbiz), Hoshino Sayaka.”

Hoshino is currently practicing for an end-of-term play, but things become complicated when a fellow club member, Hoshino’s underclassman Uesugi Kana, starts showing her dissatisfaction over Hoshino always getting the lead role. Hachioji-sensei tries to calm the situation by mentioning that Hoshino was fairly chosen as the lead through an audition and a vote by all the club members. Though Kana still storms out in a huff. At first everyone seems to side with Hoshino, but Kana gets them thinking by complaining that they should feel frustrated at always getting minor roles too.

Later, Hikaru is walking Hoshino home and since Christmas is almost upon them, Hikaru asks Hoshino what she would like. Hoshino thinks for a moment, then shyly replies, “What I want for Christmas is for Suzuki-kun to come see my play.” After Hikaru lovingly embraces Hoshino for her adorableness, he asks her whether her parents will go see it too. Hoshino hastily replies that they’re too busy, and that lately they’ve been trying their best to come home early to spend time with her, which is more than enough for her. Even so, Hikaru doesn’t seem very convinced.

After Hoshino gets home, her mother notes that she’s been coming home late recently, to which Hoshino replies that she’s been practicing for her upcoming play. This leads to her mother telling her she should quit the drama club

and focus on her studies since she’ll soon be a 3rd year student. This does not go down well with Hoshino, and she passionately refuses, declaring that she’ll stay with the drama club right through middle school, and then join a new one in high school. This of course sets off a fierce argument between Hoshino and her mother, which ends when Hoshino runs into her room and slams the door shut, “You don’t know anything at all, Mother!! I will never ever quit the drama club…!!”

The next day when Hikaru greets Hoshino, she’s looking pretty down about the whole affair. She tells him what happened, that she got into a fight with her mother, and that she fears her next play will be her last. As Hikaru comforts Hoshino, she thinks to herself, “This is something Suzuki-kun has always supported me in. It was the first time I’d found a place where I belonged. Even though I have nothing else going for me, this is the one place that shines in my life. If I quit acting, then I’m sure my heart will die…”

Finally the day of the play arrives, but when Hoshino looks out at the crowd she notices that Hikaru isn’t there. Suddenly news arrives that 5 members of the cast are absent due to a ‘cold’, though in truth it’s Kana and a bunch of her friends who are boycotting the play, and they believe Hoshino is getting her just deserts.

Meanwhile, Hoshino’s mother is in the middle of a meeting, though she can’t concentrate at all, being unable to shrug off Hoshino's unprecedented bout of defiance. Suddenly Hikaru barges in, and quickly picks up Hoshino’s mother. She kicks up a fuss at first (though she's weak when it comes to Hikaru), but she calms down after Hikaru tells her he’s taking her to see Hoshino’s play, “I betcha didn’t know that Hoshino is the cutest and shines the brightest in the world upon that stage.” With that, he dashes off to his next target, Hoshino’s father.

Back at school, Hachioji-sensei informs everyone that they’ll have to cancel the play since 5 missing members is too much to make up for. Everyone seems quite disappointed at his decision, when suddenly Hoshino comes up with a solution. With a determined look on her face, she turns towards him, “Hachioji-sensei, please raise the curtains. I have a plan, so let the play begin!!”
