[art] A Family Portrait

May 14, 2006 19:50

Here's a BLTA-inspired drawing to start of. As always, Roy/Ed, with R.D on the side. Damn, I forgot Al! O__o

And here I was, hoping that it'd look like a photo or something, but...yeah. ^_^;; )

Pfft, that person was just a wee bit harsh. >_> I like your oekaki's, especially this one. Aww, is Ed blushing!? X3 And what's up with the random but cute dog? ^^

Yay gift! Can't wait to see it. ;)

I know, that's why it hurts. ;_; But then, that person has the right to say that to a novice like me because s/he draws really good. *sigh* And, hehe, this one isn't drawn in paint - I drew it by hand. ^_^;; Yep! Lately, I have this thing for blushing!Ed, and I don't know why. O_O As for the dog, well, the drawing was inspired by the popular BLTA fic in the first place so I had to include R.D in there. ^_^;;

Yep! It's a birthday gift, actually, but I got chicken pox a few weeks back so I just finished coloring yours last two days ago. ^_^;; I tried to make it look like manga!Ed because I know you like the manga better, but you judge! XD;;

The person who said that is probably just jealous because they're the one without any actual talent and felt like making you doubt yourself. People like that should be pushed off cliffs XP

This picture as a whole is adorable, but I especially love the doggy. For once, my attention is elsewhere ^.^;

On the contrary, s/he has talent, and s/he is way better than me when it comes to drawing. ^_^;; The only thing that hurts me is because the person who I consider as my inspiration will be the one who would say that to me in the first place. ;_;

Thank you! And glad you liked the dog because it's my first time drawing a dog. =^_^=

It's a shame when people like that let their egos get the better of them. To be constructive is one thing, but to completely shut people down is another >\

Well, now that I think about it, maybe s/he's trying to help me with those words. Like they always say: "No Pain, No Gain". ^_^;; *is trying to be positive, but fails miserably so*

You're right. I remember hearing you say that before in your LJ, and having experiencing the same thing, I can now feel for you, too. ;_;

i know i got better in that time and so will you! I remember your first art posts and you are really improving!

Ditto on the improvement part! I may not be good enough yet, but looking at my old drawings, I'm sure I did improve somehow and I'm proud of that. And thank you for believing in me, and saying that I'm improving! That means a lot. =)

I dont know what you are using to color but there are some tutorials on the net which you should try if you wanna get better

Uhm, do you mind if I ask you if you could redirect me to those tutorials? I tried to google it before, but sadly, the kind of coloring style I was looking for wasn't there. =( That would be so much help! *puppy eyes*

Lastly, thank you! Happy that you liked it. =)

I was called as a no talent and good-for-nothing artist, and that there's no way I could ever improve at all in drawing by someone

The person who said that had no right to say it at all!!!!!!!! First off, I think you draw amazingly well. SOme people just like to put others down because they're either insecure or just plain rude!

When I was seventeen I could only draw stick figures, and now I can draw people thanks to those people who keep telling me to practice. I don't draw them as well as you guys but I see how much I've improved.. So i'm sure that, while your current skills are better than average already, there's always room for improvement!

It's good that you decided to draw again. I've been missing your artwork lately. I do check them out even if I don't comment as much as the others.

And Happy Mother's Day to your mom! It's been a blessing to know you and it's all thanks to her.

Again, thank you. =) Alam kong hindi ako gifted katulad nung taong 'yon (that person is already good at it at my age, it seems), but I tried to learn kasi I like drawing anime - like I told you before, isa sa pangarap ko ang maging isang manga-ka. =D So, yep! Desidido akong matuto't ma-enhance yung ability ko sa drawing! =)

Thanks! I didn't know that you check my craparts at all, pero thank you ulit! =D

Same to your mom, ate! *hugs you*
