It's been getting reaaally fucking cold. It's really painful on my knees these days : (
Grad photos have my panties in a twist =___=
So, Karen wanted a group photo ... okay, that's fine ... so she tried booking a group session with Artona. BUT Artona are cheapskate bastards, so they require a minimum of four people in the session, as well as a fee of $10 per person (a group session is ten minutes, so they basically want at least $4/minute ... wankers). First, we don't have four people. Second, Lisa and I don't want to pay $10 for a picture that we may not even buy. Then, Karen suggests doing a 'couple' theme, where we all drag our boyfriends with us. This did not end well ... in fact, it got Lisa even more negative about it and turned out some problems on the side. *sigh*
So, since us psych students do our grad photos at a different studio, I figured we might as well just use my *free* group photo during my grad pic session (I had wanted to take my free one with Fish, but I figured I'd just add on another group pic and fork over the $15 camera fee for the extra picture time). I'd originally booked my session for Nov. 28th at 3pm, but that ran over both Lisa's work hours and Karen's class time (and Lisa needs at least a week's notice to schedule time off), so I had to call today and reschedule. Long story short, I called once, got a pretty nice day and time, but since Karen had some issues, I had to call again (which I did NOT enjoy, since I could tell the lady was a little annoyed) and couldn't manage to get a good booking DAY until fucking December the fucking 31st (which is the absolute last day to have the photo taken, or else my picture won't make it into the grad composite). And on top of that, the fucking photo session is at fucking 9.45am, so I have to fucking wake up at 7am to get ready =____=
I am going to be soooooo mad if I look sleepy in my photos.
See, the day and time frustrates me, but what pisses me off about this whole thing is Karen's attitude towards it =___= Lisa and I don't even want the picture THAT much. I mean, it'd be nice, but it's not worth all this mah-fan bullshit. And since Karen is the one who seemed to really want it 'so badly,' then she should have just used her 'friendship photo' time during her own grad pic session for it (but nooo, she wants to do it with Tom). The first time I called to ask her about the first reschedule date I got (Dec.10 at 5.45pm, which works since I'm more alert at night, and could possibly go eat somewhere nice afterwards), it didn't work for her. That was fine, I understood and accepted the situation, so I called back and changed it JUST FOR HER. I'd like to stress here that this isn't JUST a group photo, but MY grad photo session. The focus is on MY ass all wrapped up in UBC robes. After the second reschedule, I called her to make sure she didn't have any conflicts (again) and this time she put on this whiny attitude about it being in the morning. Not because she had any conflicts, just because it was a morning session. WTF. If she looks all strung out and sleepy in the photo, it's not her problem, she doesn't have to buy the photo. I, however, could possibly waste $55 on a deposit AND have grad photos that look like crap. So I don't see why she should be complaining at all. Stupid picture is on New Year's Eve too ... I'll have to take a nap or something (and re-do hair afterwards), or else I'll pass out before midnight. Bah. BAH.

My cousin's wife has finally come to Canada, so the family had a big dinner to welcome her and stuff. She's super Shanghainese-y, lol.
Speaking of New Year's, I wonder what I should do this year. I'm taking a 'go fuck yourself' attitude and making reservations for wherever the hell I want. Awesome people can join me, cheap-asses can go die ^___^
As per usual, most restaurants seem to have a two-seating arrangement. Just dinner early in the evening (5.30 or 6 until 8.30 or 9), and dinner plus bubbly and countdown action from when the first seating ends until whenever.
Dive has a four-course dinner for $65, dinner (six-course) and after-party for $110
Le Crocodile has a five-course dinner for $85 and dinner (six-course) plus after-party for $150 (pretentious French pricing XDDD)

Hrmm .... I wanna go dinner at Connor again sometime in the near future ... they're doing the Chow thing and offering an early-bird three-course for $35 : 3 As long as I skip lunch, I can get hungry by 5.30pm X3
I figure I'll buy Opera tickets in December (after my credit card tally rolls over to the next month). I'm actually getting pretty excited about going @___@; I think it's just the idea of dressing up nice and going to the theater for a night of culture XD; But yea. Carmen sometime in January, anybody wanna tag along? XD; I think I should get myself a pair of classy opera binoculars : D
I still need to get bling to match my dress. Anybody wanna go jewelry hunting with panda? XD And I don't know if I should keep the straps on, or go strapless (the straps are detachable). Ah, why am I thinking about all this stuff now ... I should be focusing on finals first Y___Y
