Summary: Sam woke to the low murmur of Latin and the soft glow of sunshine filtering through the blinds.

Sam woke to the low murmur of Latin and the soft glow of sunshine filtering through the blinds.
"Gab'ril?" he tried. The Latin stopped and warm lips brushed over his forehead.
"Morning, Sam," Gabriel said softly. "Don't get up."
Sam blinked one eye open, but everything was blurry and gold, so he just sighed and shut it again. "Wha'? Why?"
"Special day," Gabriel told him. Sam felt the archangel's clever hands running down his side lightly and totally didn't push into the touch. Gabriel laughed, low and dark, the way he only did when they were alone.
"Hmm," Sam said as Gabriel's hand slid over his arm and found Sam's hand where it was tucked under the covers.
"Very special day," Gabriel continued. "So special, in fact, that it only comes once a millennium."
Sam tried opening an eye again and focused on the blur that was probably Gabriel's face. "Special?" he asked, voice clearer.
"Special," Gabriel repeated. "And we're going to spend it in bed."
Sam smiled. Spending the day in bed was something that had been happening with regularity since Gabriel had literally tripped him into his bed.
"Sounds good," he said. "Kiss?"
That was something else that had developed, being able to just ask, knowing what the answer would be. Gabriel chuckled and leaned in.
"If I must," he said, pressing his lips to Sam's in a chaste kiss. Sam sighed into it, then snaked his free hand out from under the covers and up to the back of Gabriel's neck.
Tugging, he pulled the archangel in closer and deepened the kiss before pulling back. "Love you," he whispered. Gabriel nudged their noses together.
"Love you, too, Sam," he whispered back. Then he leaned in for another kiss and, well, ended up spending the whole day in bed.
Not that Sam minded.
