I agree, no-kill shelters are a little... I don't know, unsavory. Dishonest. Something.

I don't really feel that they're unsavory, but maybe dishonest. They give the illusion that there is always an alternative to euthanizing shelters. The people in both kinds of shelters work really hard at what they do, but I just get grumpy at the number of people who want to surrender their animal for whatever reason, but are always complaining to us that the no-kill shelters are full and that they love Fluffy so much that they can't bear the thought of taking him to one of those "horrible, government-run death camps."
Since OHS declared themselves low-kill/no-kill they got hugely more donations, though they no longer take strays or any pets they deem "non-adoptable."

Yeah, it's a bit of a cop-out to say we don't euthanize, but then not even give the "less adoptable" pets a chance to enter the building.
