Is there any such thing as an alarm that shrills loudly if a door isn't closed properly, like what they do with cars I wonder.

No, but I wish there was! I'm getting another lock put on the front door, and rob is going to have strict instructions to turn the key in the lock every time he goes out. I'm getting really fed up of this!
