numéro un //in which elpis finds herself in possession of a body//

I suppose I've never thought about it before, what it would be like to be weighed down with matter as humans are. It's rather strange a feeling, to be quite honest: oddly...squishy. And what an exhilerating transition! One moment, hovering above a man's shoulder, the next practically tumbling on top of him. Human confusion is an emotion that I ( Read more... )

Hello! Oh, were you a spirit before then?

Yes! I'm Elpis, spirit of hope. And yourself? (: Were you once a spirit too?

...You're hope?

Oh, no- I've always been human really. I was actually the first woman created!

Well, not anymore I guess, I'm just Elpis, the human girl, now...but until yesterday evening I was hope! (:

Really?! Are you sure? I mean, not are you sure, but--that's great! You're the one who let me free, then!

And let me just say, human bodies are ever so fun! No matter where I go I always end up going down!

Hi! Thanks, everyone's been so friendly so far, I'm sure it can't be too bad! Although one girl WAS talking a lot about blood, of all things...

Nice to meet you Adrestia! I suppose there are a great many members of my family here, aren't there? I'll have to seek them out in the complex and stop by and say hi!! I haven't seen them in so long, it'll be great!

Thank you, that's so nice of you to say! I'm super excited to meet everyone, and I think Charybdis is a student like me? So I should get the chance to meet her soon! Your parents are Ares and Aphrodite, right? What a formidable lineage!

I sincerely hope that I do. I suppose we don't know when we'll be going back to our normal selves, so the best thing to do would just be to get accustomed to what we're doing now while looking for a way to switch back!

Thanks again (:

(woahlong sorry, haha) panglossianelle December 21 2009, 23:45:04 UTC
Hi! Goodness, it's so great to finally interact with you! I suppose hope hasn't had much of a role with death, have I? What sort of Death are you now? I'll have to stop by and visit and say hello sometime! Maybe I'll bring some cookies, humans love cookies right? Do you know what your human favorite is yet?

I know what you mean though--I've noticed changes myself, beyond the obvious change to an actual form. Primarily, I'm no longer able to hear people's hopes! How am I to help them if I don't know what they need help with?

It's a little bit upsetting. But maybe it'll help me learn how to better understand people's hopes by having to discover them on my own instead of having htem revealed to me!

Mother is among us? That's very intriguing. Who hasn't been pulled down to earth? It seems as though all of Olympus is down here, and then some!

Hahha aww Thanatos, what a cutie. panglossianelle December 22 2009, 00:15:59 UTC
Hmm. Okay, well I'll just have to guess, or maybe I'll make a bunch of different kinds and you can taste test and see which one is your favorite! Ooh, that sounds like fun, I bet baking is tons of fun.

Detective Elpis, hm? I think I'd enjoy doing that, but I sense a challenge as I don't think humans are particularly prone to revealing secrets, from what I know about them. No matter, I'm sure that I can convince them of my good intentions.

I wonder how the heavens and underworld are functioning without anyone to look after them?

. . . have you really never had a body of any kind before?

Yup! I've always been a spirit, well except when I first came out of the box I was locked in with my siblings. At that time, I guess I came out kind similar to how I look now.... I guess I've had a form, as a spirit, but it was much lighter than this and I don't think it was made of matter, or at least not matter as dense as this is. But I spent most of my time down here working, not in Mount Olympus, so it helped to be able to move very very fast and undetected!

Besides, there's a little of me in every mortal human...sort of. It's a bit complicated, haha.

That's... cool. Sorry about that box thing... that sounds uncomfortable. It must be really nice to be out again.

Oh, um, I'm Ganymede by the way.

Yeah, my siblings and I were all stuck in a box together. I suppose it's not so bad if you don't have a form to worry about...it wasn't too bad, just boring, but I knew we would get out eventually! (:

Nice to meet you Ganymede! I'm Elpis...obviously hahaha

Having hair is only the beginning of the fun you can have with these bodies, you know~

Oh? I really like noses, too. Smelling things is fun. And I really enjoy cartwheels! ...Though that has nothing to do with noses or hair...

I sound like a child. Forgive me for acting like a toddler, but it's just all so fun and new!
