mod post: MISSING FIC

Okay, first things first. There are still two teams with missing fic. Both of them are missing prompts and unfortunately, they aren't the same prompts. The point system still stands, for now. If you feel there is some mistake and you swear that the fic has already been submitted, feel free to email or IM me (BenditlkeBeckett/justranda85[at]gmail[ ( Read more... )

Is there any plan to just disqualify the fics that aren't submitted? I'd imagine that if a fic hasn't been submitted, it probably won't be by this point (unless, like you said, it's been submitted overlooked). It just sucks for people who worked half to death and struggled to get their fics in on time... we want our fics read but people are really losing interest :(

I'm going to talk to Danie about it, but personally, that's what I'd like to do. To me, there just seems to be no point in waiting around for fic that's not going to be submitted. I'd honestly rather just post what's been submitted and then score each team based on what they have.

I've been itching to see fics posted and it irritates me that people didn't make a better effort to get their fics in on time.

even if this somehow makes me look like a bad person, or whatever, for not making this my main priority, it isn't.

i took on that prompt for team jon because someone didn't do it, and life is hectic, i spend 99.9% of it doing coursework or in class and i tried to finish it. then i lost it. my computer ate a bunch of my files. i have tried to write it out on paper and transfer it or what have you, but, honestly, i doubt that i can truly finish it all in the next few days. truly.

there are more important things than the internet, i call them real life. finishing a story in an alloted time does not affect my future, getting my work done and going to class does.

i may post it sometime, but likely not for this contest. life gets in the way. just take those points away from my team, i suppose.

I understand what you're saying, and I personally don't think it makes you a bad person (if input from a person you'll never meet means anything), but at the same time, I kind of feel like if you didn't want to make it a priority for a bit of time, you should've have taken the prompt. It's frustrating for those of us who've been eager to hear input on our writing but can't because other people haven't turned in their stories.
