Ugh, people are asking for donations at airports now? DX That's so stupid! Especially that they're dressed up to look like employees... I guess I'll never talk to anyone "wandering around" airports again, and just go up to people working at desks (assuming there aren't ginormous lines in front of them).

Don't any convenience stores around you at least have fruit juice??

Yes, they are. I'd never seen any at airports before the LA airport, but knowing that they are out there (and that I ran into not one, but TWO before even finding an employee!) makes me sick. DX Especially since people who ask for donations by walking around always have some kind of trick up their sleeve to GUILT you into donating. If there is a hell, I hope it has a special section for these people. D:< If you want your organization to have donations, ask for them in a way that doesn't make you a giant asshole and then maybe people will be more willing to give.

The supermarket didn't have any little chilled juice bottles. The convenience store probably does, but I always see the same one or two brands of apple and orange juice and nothing else. They always taste too sweet for me, too. Sometimes I find juice boxes and drinks that are just the right amount of sweetness, but I can only find them in tiny stores in the middle of nowhere that sell local brands. orz

I'm so with you on sugary soft drinks. Can't drink 'em. If I could import all the bottled tea in Japan, I'd be a happy camper. There's this "lightly sweetened" darjeeling afternoon tea from ... I forget which company, but it's heaven in a bottle.

Japanese tea makes me happy~. I could drink soukenbicha and oolong tea every day. *_*

I see "Tea's Tea" brand unsweetened teas sometimes in the US, but always only in the "health foods" aisle and always twice as much as normal drinks. I feel bad buying them so often because paying around $3 for a plastic bottled drink feels .. wrong. :\ That would be $21 of tea per week if I drank one every day...

Welcome home ;A; Feel better soon!

I'm not really a fan of tipping (despite having worked as a waitress before), i mean sure it's lovely when a customer tips you if they feel you've done a good job, but making it obligatory so it PAYS the staff's wage is ridiculous??? Wouldn't it make more sense for employers to increase their pay sobbb <-- at least that's what i learnt about how it works in America on tv yesterday orz

Most Asian countries aren't big on tipping, except for Hong Kong i think. Back home in Malaysia, eveyone's too stingy to tip lol but then again we already fork out an extra 10%+5% for government+service tax sighhh

Wait till you come to Australia you'll get stuck in customs FOREVER as they scour every inch of your luggage and HOW DARE YOU BRING IN ORGANIC MATTER FROM FOREIGN LANDS THIS ORANGE IS A THREAT TO OUR NATION

Yeah, I feel like it's okay if a tip is a pat on the back for a good job, but tipping in America just... isn't that any more. You walk in a restaurant or other service knowing you HAVE to tip because it is an unspoken rule. I would rather them just raise the menu prices and give their employees what they deserve. T3T

I guess a service tax automatically added to the bill would be better too. I just feel like.. like my money is dirty paying for someone's tip that is supposed to be a sign of exceptionally good service even when 90% of the time the service was average or crappy.

haha i will pack lightly if i go to australia then ;3; no one messed with my bags in the US/Japan I think, since it seemed they were not opened... and even if they opened it all they would find is clothes and huge figures and be like "what the hell is wrong with this person" orz
