I recently Attended the Norcal Pirate Fest in Vallejo CA: http://www.norcalpiratefestival.com/mainpage.htm The Event is set in the 18th Century, but as with most pirates, pretty much anything goes

Thank you, I'm glad you like the hat and my little write up. I think next tricorn I make I am going to try covering one of those pre-made forms I have seen for sale. Good luck with yours, please post pictures when you finish!

The event was really fun, It was the first time I had gone, so I was not sure what to expect. I also really liked that the admission was free, since fairs are usually expensive when you add food etc.
