Recently we went on holiday to the Loire Vally in France. I wore some of my gowns to the beautiful castles there. First is my autumn anglaise, which I wore to Chateau Valencay.
Wow, they're all absolutely fantastic! Also interesting to see, because when I was younger I was told that red and pink should never go together... but you've totally proved that wrong! They look great on your gown!
And if you don't mind my asking, what pattern did you use for the first two?
Thank you! I guess it depends on the shade of red and pink if the colours clash or not. If the pink would be hot pink, it would be a different thing. This is more of a powder pink, so it looks quite good with the burgundy
( ... )
Yeah, the shades you used definitely worked. Hot pink wouldn't work so well, I suspect! :)
Your explanation did make sense, and was very helpful! If you don't mind, I'd love to try using your method to make something in a similar vein. As for the pattern, I'd always personally preferred the Francais one, but you've really converted me to liking the look of the Anglaise incarnation. :) Oh yes, and thankyou for the link to your tutorial! I love seeing how these kind of things have been put together.
You have the greatest photo opportunities!! I have to ask, do you dress on site or travel that way? And I never see anyone else your photos, are the castles you visit always so peaceful?
Thank you! We do have to travel far for these great locations though (about 800 km this time). We have castles in The Netherlands, but not as beautiful as in France. I get dressed in the holidy home and then travel all dressed to the castle. Unfortunately the castles aren't as peaceful as they seem. We do try to avoid other people on our pictures, which most of the time succeeds. Especailly Chateay Chenonceau was very crowded with lots and lots of tourists. Mostly japanese and chinese who all wanted to take a picture of me. I guess I've been photographed hundreds of times that day. Fortunately in the castle they all stepped aside to allow us to take pictures.
