Hmm. I don't think it matters whether you start with the original trilogy or not, but in case you haven't heard, the new ones pretty much stink to high heaven. They're fun to make fun of...at least, that's what I think. ;)

Hehe, yes, I've heard that. That's why I want to watch the older ones first--I've heard the stories and characters are better, even if the affects aren't. But if I don't persuade my brother to watch those first, it won't be easy to get to watch them later. ;)

Dude! He has to watch the old ones...otherwise he can't legitimately claim to have seen Star Wars.

I know, that's what I'm trying to tell him! I handle the Netflix stuff though, so there's nothing to stop me from getting the original trilogy in spite of him. Bwuaha.

*goes off to put the original trilogy in queue*

I'd watch the old ones first, even if they are, technically, the end of the story. They're just...yeah...better, and funnier. And you'll appreciate the special effects in them more if you don't see the flashy new ones first.

Yup, that's what I think too. If I don't get him to watch the old ones first, I'll never be able to get him to watch them later.

AH! newer ones first...cause they're chronologically first.
aaand
*cough cough anakin's gorgeous cough cough*
:P
but you really need to wait until revenge of the sith comes out on DVD
thats the majorist one in the newer ones, the climax...is just...awesome.
and yes, i am a star wars freak.

LOL Yeah, I have a copy of Revenge of the Sith saved in our Netflix queue, so they'll send it to us as soon as it's released on DVD!

Really? I was thinking you wanted your shoulder to go away. LOL.

No, you should NOT watch the new ones first! Just because they're prequels doesn't mean they should go first. I mean, that's like reading The Magician's Nephew first in The Chronicles of Narnia when actually it's supposed to be second to last, I believe. The new sets of that series though have it first. It's just wrong. You should watch them in the order they were made and throw things at Jar Jar Binx when you get to Episode I and Anakin in Episode II. That's what I would do. ;o)

LOL, yeah, that's what I think too.

That's what you think about what order to watch them in or that's what you think about Jar Jar Binx and Anakin? ;o)

Well, the former, since I don't know about Jar Jar and Anakin yet. LOL

I think I agree with everyone else - if you watch the old ones first, you're getting THE Star Wars. If you watch the new ones first, you're getting the "let's drag this out as long as we can" version. I haven't seen "Revenge of the Sith" yet, but I'm looking forward to that one.

The only thing is - if you watch the first three first, you're much more likely to enjoy the other three because the first two at least are so hokey. ;-) And if you start with the first three, you'll watch them in order. But it's not like you're going to be totally confused if you don't watch them in order. Hee hee.

Yeah, how could Star Wars really be Star Wars without Luke Skywalker and Han Solo and Princess Leia?!

"Revenge" is definitely the best of the the new ones, and comes the closest to achieving the quality of the originals. Although, I have to say, Luke Skywalker still has my heart ;)

Yeah, I have to see Luke Skywalker and Han Solo--they aren't in the new ones. ;)
