So, the ball was fun! It would've been more fun if more of our platoon had come, though, since we didn't know hardly anyone. I don't understand why some women would wear cocktail dresses; I'd think it'd be fun to dress up in a fancy dress!

Your hair is gorgeous. So is the dress. I think it's not just the dress though, you look extra glowing. Must be happiness. :-) And the guy next to you. It's enough to make a girl sympathize with Lydia in Pride and Prejudice and think a man is nothing without a uniform. LOL.
