Kit's cats bar no other pun >.>;;
All right, all right, this post might just be an excuse to spam kitty pictures.
My current flatmate, Kit, has the tamest and sweetest cats ever. (Of course, there are downsides - for one, they eat book covers and cardboard boxes if left alone. A bibliophile's worst nightmare ;A; ) Their names are Schrodinger and Copernicus, also known as Ding and Copy. Kit named the first one on her own; I helped name the second one over a phone conversation while I was still living in Ohio.
They will let you pick them up, pet them, play with their paws and toes, floof their tails, rub their cheeks, pet their bellies, and coo at them for hours in embarrasing babytalk. In fact, they like having their bellies rubbed! Schrodinger still has his claws, but even when playing, he'll never use them against you. Both he and Copernicus will play-bite, but they'll just barely touch teeth to skin.
Kit's been known to carry Schrodinger around like a football, and he just goes limp and looks bored. They're almost not like cats, but I have learned not to be lulled into a false sense of complacency. They still shed just like cats, and knock things over like cats, and meow incessantly when it's somewhat near suppertime like cats, and etc. Though, have I mentioned? Copernicus plays fetch.
In fact, perhaps I should rephrase that. He's obsessed with playing fetch. Picking up what he gives you Is A Trap. You will be obligated to play fetch henceforth for hours and hours on end, no exaggeration. Failure to comply with throwing the toy will result in: having the toy placed directly in your lap/on your keyboard, having him meow pitifully, having him headbutt your hands away from the keyboard/PS2 controller/telephone, having him wake you up at three in the fucking morning to play fetch, and so on.
But they are sweet and adorable and I will miss them when I move out. Realizing just now that I will be catless for the foreseeable future (the Wowy is deathly allergic to cats, much to his dismay) I'm resolving to take as many pics of them as possible.
