30 Days of Anime: Days 2, 3, and 4 [Meme]
I'm back from the cabin trip. And it was as awesome as expected. I'll do a writeup on it later on.
But first, while my brain is still fuzzy on sleep, I'll catch up on the 30 Days of Anime thingy ^^;;
Day 2: Favorite Anime I've Watched So Far
At first, I thought "Oh no! I'll never be able to decide! But then I realized there was only one real answer to this question.
The Big O
There's so much to be said to criticize this anime. It's only 26 episodes. It's unfinished. It's derivative. It's perhaps needlessly cryptic (especially the ending). The animation looks "un-anime".
But I love it so much.
It's short and sweet. There's a good blend of humor, mystery, deep thinking, and action. The characters are brilliantly thought through, and of course I love R. Dorothy Waynewright. The animation is sharp and unafraid to be different and stylistically beautiful. The world is deep, mysterious, and yet cleverly thought through. Re-watching the anime lets you catch different things every time.
I've watched it probably a dozen times from beginning to end, and I'll probably re-watch it a dozen more. The fandom is small and sparse, but I love what's there. This is my favorite anime to get other people to watch and love.
So, I guess that's what makes it my favorite one so far. ^^;;
Day 3: My Anime Crush
... This one is really really difficult to decide. Aaaaaaaaah.
First Contender:
Integra Hellsing from Hellsing
She's female, for those of you who aren't in the know.
Integra is a dead shot with a pistol, has an iron will, and is fucking hot wearing absolutely anything.
Let's face it; I'd let her ride me like she stole me.
Second Contender:
Vash the Stampede from Trigun
I need a spoon, please.
He's a goofball and a crybaby, but also seriously badass.
Even though I have a thing for scars, someone might ask me if this isn't a bit much?
Third Contender:
Haruka Tenoh from Sailor Moon
Oh, be quiet. She was one of my first female crushes.
She drives fast cars, is dedicated to her mission, and very protective of her girlfriend.
... I might have a thing for blonds.
Fourth Contender:
Genjo Sanzo from Gensōmaden Sayuki
Okay, I have a thing for blonds.
They have to be blonds with guns and/or swords, though. Who are tough and possibly angry. Who are brilliant but don't say much. Who are tsundere with the biggest most woobie soft spot you've ever seen. Ahem.
