It was a very tedious day. Silvia was on her way to her father’s office when her cell phone vibrated. Her shift ended an hour ago. But her father requested her to analyze some data for him. She smiled when she saw who the caller was.
“Pepa.”
“Hi, Sil. How are things?” Pepa asks. Her voice low and concern is visible through it. “How are you? Are you okay?”
“Yes, everything is fine. I’m supposed to be off an hour ago, but Dad wants me to analyze some data for him. Now, I’m on my way to his office. Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m just worried. Haven’t heard from you all day. I thought something happened,” Pepa answered.
“Sorry if I haven’t called and if I got you worried. Listen, I have to hang up now. I’ll call you up back, okay?” Silvia said.
“Okay.”
----o----o----o----o----
Silvia is still inside the elevator going up to her apartment, she already wanted to collapse. When she entered the apartment, she wasn’t just tired physically. She was also filled with guilt. She promised Pepa that she would call her back but never got the chance. So she put the call for later, but it totally slipped through her mind.
She smelled something good. Smell like food cooking. She thought that her sister is might be there. She still has a little bit of strength left to eat the food she prepared for dinner. She knows that Lola worries if she hasn’t eaten anything.
When she reached the portal of the kitchen, it wasn’t Lola she sees. It was Pepa. She was in front of the oven taking out the chicken. Happiness rushed through her, just the thought of spending the night with her. She thought that the day is going to end without seeing her.
“Pepa…”
She turned her head to face her. She was in her jeans that hugged the contours of her body and a white tank top. No vests and gun holster. She’s wearing nothing on her feet. She looked like she had spent the whole day in the kitchen. When she saw her, she glances shyly at the food she’s holding.
“I tried cooking but I burnt it. If Lola was here she could have saved it. Sorry, it’s only take-out.”
She didn’t even pay attention on what else Pepa is saying. She walks towards her. She put down her purse on the table and grabbed the tray from her and placed it on the table. Silvia sighed and hugged her.
“Hmm, this feels good,” she said when Pepa hugged her back tightly. Her fatigued disappeared instantly. “I missed you. Good thing you’re here.”
Pepa took a deep breath. ‘’So how are you?” she asks gently.
“I’m fine,” Silvia replied. Work is the last thing she wanted to talk about. She already had enough for the day. “Why are you here? I thought you’re going out with your friends,” she said constantly.
Pepa shrugged her shoulder. I cancelled it. I really wanted to spend time with you. We hardly have time together lately.
Silvia smiled. “Really? You did that for me?”
Pepa nodded. “Only for you.”
“Well I’m not about to complain.”
“I’m expecting you not to.”
Silvia sighed again. She couldn’t think of anything to say. Only three words are on her mind right now. And she said it out load. “I love you, Pepa.”
“I love you too, Princess.” She’s about to kiss her when Silvia stepped back. She gave her an inquiring look. Oops, wait. I’m sorry,” Silvia said. “Do you mind?” After spending so many hours cutting bodies open, I stink and I felt I’m so sticky.
“I don’t mind,” Pepa said.
Silvia shook her head slightly while pushing her gently. “I’ll shower first. I’ll be quick. It won’t take long. Wait for me, okay?” She turns and run towards her room.
She took her clothes off and went under the shower. The spray of water on her tired shoulder felt so good. She stayed there as long as she could. After the shower she felt really drowsy. She also never thought of eating. She only wanted to sleep.
She’s yawning when she went out of the bathroom. That suddenly stops when she saw Pepa sitting on her bed. She shyly covered her mouth. “I’m sorry.”
Pepa got up and went to her. “I really would mind if you’re not going to rest.” “You hungry?”
“Not really. But I’m so tired and really wanted to sleep,” she confessed.
“We could still re-heat the chicken later,” Pepa suggested.
“Aren’t you hungry?”
Not yet she answered.
“Will you sleep with me?”
“If you want me to.”
Silvia nodded enthusiastically. “I’d very much like that, Agent Miranda,” she said teasingly. Pepa grinned and pulled her. She removed the shower cap from her head. She kissed her on the tip of her nose. Silvia groan in protest. “I already showered and I even brushed my teeth.”
Pepa amusingly kissed her lips. It took just a few seconds. And then she was getting rid of her robe, putting on a soft negligee on her. And then she was bundling her up on bed. She waited for her to lie down beside her. Only when her arms were around her did she let the drugging sleep take over her senses.
