It was wrong. Completely, utterly, totally, one hundred percent wrong. She wasn’t even eighteen yet, not to mention the fact that he just found out she was his niece. Talk about a cruel twist of fate. Still, Peter couldn’t get her out of his mind. She was there constantly, the one thing he couldn’t not think of. But as she sat there, taking his hands into hers, none of it mattered. She took his hands, laced their fingers together and leaned into him, capturing his lips in a sweet, soft kiss. When she pulled away and he finally caught his breath, he looked over her face.
She smiled and brought her hand up, running her fingertip gently along his lower lip. He smiled beneath it, waiting for some kind of explanation. Claire merely smiled wider, kissed him lightly again and whispered, “I love you, too.” And in that moment, he felt like he was flying.
