I kind of wish she'd say something, because I want to understand what she thinks she'd doing. On the other hand, given the other blow-up you mention, silence is definitely the best course of action in these cases, so it's probably for the best.

Even better, of course, would be deleting the story and rewriting it with a dog named Spot.

First off, thanks so much. You're incredibly kind, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed my new story!

Second, I'm totally with you about all the issues on the comm--both the stupid drama and especially the possibly-unintentional but nevertheless horribly-handled act of racism. I was so annoyed that the original story post/comments got deleted, especially since so many of us were trying to engage with the author about the issue.
