Mm, amnesia. I love John's confusion over being so old, and in another galaxy, and with Rodney, this weird middle-aged Canadian astrophysicist. You did a great job of making everything seem weird and new to him.

I love that of all the things Rodney could show John, all the great things about Atlantis, he's *really* excited about showing him The Matrix.

But he's not going to show him the sequels. The man's had a trauma!

*g* Obviously! If anything could convert John to the twenty-first century, it would be The Matrix! Though I'm guessing Rodney fast-forwards over the boring philosophy parts and only watches the special effects.

Yes, that's the appeal of amnesia fic for me. Particularly for characters who I see as having a very carefully constructed present-day self-image - it's fun to wonder who they were before that.
