The figures suggested that the proportion of women who are obese or overweight falls as the educational level rises.

I can't say this is surprising to me...

The BMI correlates fairly well with body fat.

Er... no. It really doesn't.

Some more reading for you. If you can't be bothered with that, Penn & Teller Bullshit! s05e01 - Obesity - has a pretty good summary of the key facts, and interviews the author.

I'll read that after the gym.

Have you ever actually seen a P&T BS! show? If you bring them up as being factual, then I suspect you haven't...

The reason it's called Bullshit! and that they call people assholes instead of liars is so they can't be sued for lying when they present their poorly researched and heavily biased opinions as facts.
You do know that they also had episodes showing that environmental control and gun control is bad, right?

It does stand to reason that those who are better informed will be more informed about nutrition and are more thorough understanding of calories in vs calories out.

Eating all the highly processed and junk food that contributes to obesity must also dull the brain a bit. Although I have managed to break the Krispy Kreme habit (by moving to a place that doesn't have them!).
