I've been stuck in Millbrae for work the past couple of weeks, helping implement the EMR at an ancient hospital. I'm strictly ambulatory, so this inpatient thing has been more than a little rough. And I have discovered that PACU surgeons are the worst people on the planet!!

I'll be back to journal land as soon as I can!

You'll like this, then! There was a neuro doc who refused to use the EMR because THESE HANDS SAVE LIVES!! THEY DON'T TOUCH KEYBOARDS etc. Since he absolutely refused to go in and sign his orders (he had been making the nurses place everything!!) and was making a huge ruckus, the hospital admins actually fired him! I heard that the RNs were ecstatic about this, since they were pulling lots to see who had to scrub up for him, since he was such a horrible dick to everyone.

Stories like this warm my heart!

AUF ENGLISCH! Basically, for the past couple of weeks I have been on location doing a job I am not at all trained for! All the while getting yelled at by people who resent me and the program, even though it will save time and lives and move them into federal compliance!
