Hughes's expression softens as Ed seems to finally admit why he showed up in the first place, "That's perfectly understandable, Ed, it's always like that in the beginning. But understand this much-I doubt there's anything in the world you could do that would make her stop loving you. I've seen the two of you together and something just tells me this. Let me give you a little advice that my grandfather told me on my wedding night, it's helped me get through some rough spots over the years. Be her friend first and foremost, support her as much as you can and there's absolutely nothing in this world short of death that'll tear you two apart," he smiles at Ed.
