OOC: Pup names
I was inspired by superman_dead and our new Scar-mun to do this and explain the origin of the usernames for my various pups (I'm including one-shots in this, so bear with me).
papa_to_asobou: This was probably the easiest one I ever came up with. It comes from a song on the OST where Hughes and Elysia sing together. I thought it fit him well and decided to use it as his username because, quite frankly, it suits him (For those wondering, it means "Play with Papa")
greedling: It was originally meant as a combination of the names of who the journal is for, Greed II and Ling. Ever since a comment from light__of__day, however, I tend to merely read it as Greedling, like duckling. He's a little Greed XD
immse_eggs: This was the first pup I ever did, and when I go back to read the posts, I cringe at how bad they were, but I digress. The name is merely an abbreviation of the series the pup is from, "I my me! Strawberry Eggs".
mark_of_z: Zorro pup, name's fairly obvious. Another early pup, I had yet to get creative with my names.
daughter_orchid: Pup from a fanfic I happen to like called "Genma's Daughter". I'd go into explaining the pup, but that's not what this post is for, so onto the name. Ranma's name means "Wild Horse", whereas Ranko can mean "Wild Orchid". Because of where the pup came from, I decided to make a pun (and a lousy one at that) by combining the story name with the name meaning.
sxiiipaladin: Ah yes, Father Anderson. No, this is not "Sexy Paladin", as even I have mistaken it for at time, but Section XIII. Again, uncreative phase.
level_and_crazy: The name merely describes the personalities of whose journal it's for. Nyamo's fairly level headed and Yukari's a nut.
febloodalchmist: More descriptive naming. It's Grand, he's the Iron-blooded Alchemist and he's a pompous bastard. Need I say more?
pigs_onthewing2: I enjoy naming pups from songs when I can, and Melissa is named for the second part of "Pigs on the Wing" by Pink Floyd. I thought the song suited Hughes in general and since Melissa is a Hughes alternate, I named her after it.
genderbender_e: More descriptions. Ellen's a pup who likes to genderbend people and her name starts with an e. I know, I can be boring.
outoftimesreach: Added since I forgot her earlier ^_^;; More explaination type names. Seth (from Trinity Blood) is nine hundred and thrity years old, but she looks like she's twelve, hence, she's out of time's reach.
And finally, paracelsuslight: Paracelsus is supposedly the inspiration that Hiromu Arakawa had for Hohenheim. He was a major alchemist in the 1400s, I believe, and made several advancements in toxoligy. The light part is merely a reference to Hohenheim's full name being Hohenheim of Light.
