Having been on both ends of the evil noise situation, I recommend the following. Go down and talk to her. Begin by thanking her for being so civil in her letter and not starting the neighborly relationship badly. Let her know that you appreciate her desire for quiet, but that you also want to not have to walk on proverbial eggshells in your own home. Propose you set "quiet hours" on the weekdays and weekends that you will adhere to (and then adhere!)...but they have to be reasonable and respectful of YOUR lifestyle as well as hers. You both live there, you both pay rent, and you both want to be able to co-exist. It can't be her way or the highway, regardless of how long she's lived there. If she agrees, WRITE DOWN THE AGREEMENT. She seems like the type who will run to the landlord and whine, so if you can prove that you made an effort, you're better off.

It may not work, she may be a d-bag, but hey---you tried.

As for your MPC---maybe in Blair's shit?

That's pretty much what we've done. Blair has taken care of it today, and got the super involved. We'll see how it goes.

And i prey that my MPC is in blair's shit, but we both have some suspicions that we would rather not pursue.
