what i can tell you about predatory lending is that since i took out loans for grad school, i get really a completely absurd number of credit card/debt consolidation letters each day. i feel like their logic is a little backwards. "hmm, she's taking out thousands and thousands of dollars in loans...she must want to be MORE in debt! that's it! 25 credit card offers, go!" it all goes to my parents house, though. they mostly throw it out, but my dad mails me a sampling every now & again and it's disgusting. it's like real-life spam, which sucks even more than internet spam because my parent's mailbox doesn't have a spam filter.
