So apparently I've been going along with my so-called complete version of Sung Tongs all these years, not knowing I've been missing track 2 since day 1. It's a great song, but I wish it were a lot longer.
right, which makes me wonder why i've never heard it until yesterday. I was at Caroline's with a few other people, and I made the connection before I could ask "Wait, what album is this from?"
My burned copy of "Pink Moon" is still missing track 9myfriendedwardFebruary 2 2008, 22:17:10 UTC
I think this is really fascinating, and I wonder how often it happens.
The euphoric feeling of discovering a great record gets to be repeated, and not in a "rediscovering it after ignoring it for a few years" way, but in a completely re-contextualized way. Amazing.
And this instance is even better because up until this point, Ross has had a listening relationship with Sung Tongs that was missing the song that sold the record for so many people. Had you heard of "Who Could Win A Rabbit" before you heard it?
I hope you're enjoying the song in spite of its short running length.

That's exactly the thing, too. I've always loved the album since it's come into my possession, and now it's right back in my music cycle, also inspiring me to get some of their older stuff I thought I had already ("What else have I missed!?").
Given it's apparent popularity I must have heard the song at some point, possibily when Matthew or Phil introduced the band to me, but not in at least 2 years.
