[Personality]

Howard is very dedicated to his work and takes risks others won't. He tries to think outside of the box and push himself harder to achieve his goals. In his mind, his work in the scientific field is the most important thing in life. It sometimes leads to failure (i.e. Flying prototype car in Captain America: TFA), but failure does not faze him. Instead of dwelling on why things went wrong, he simply moves forward. Failure only encourages him to keep trying. Not only is his work important to him, he is also very good at what he does. His knowledge and skills prove to be invaluable to the Allies during World War II.

Howard is also very dedicated to his friends. He's willing to help them no matter the cost. When asked by Peggy Carter to fly Steve Rogers to a remote Hydra Base, he does so even though he is risking his job and his life. Also, at the end of Captain America: TFA, he continues searching for Steve even when all signs point to him being dead. He doesn't want to leave his friend in the icy depths of the Arctic Ocean.

Unfortunately for him, his strengths leads to many of weaknesses. His dedication to his work often gets in the way of his relationships with others and his ability to express his feelings. The relationship he has with his son later in life is distant and cold. He pushes Tony too hard at times and never expresses his love for him. It's not that he doesn't care, but since he has very high expectations for himself, he also has very high expectations for others. Also, despite having a high level of intelligence, he doesn't really understand much about the opposite sex (and doesn't attempt to understand). In Captain America, he tells Steve that even if you think you understand what's going on inside of a woman's mind, you really don't. He sees women more as objects of desire and that leads him to become a ladies man. Howard simply cannot say no to a pretty lady. Finally, he can be bit brash at times and not realize it. He acts and speaks without really thinking about how it will affect others. It's his way of being charming, but usually it ends in disaster.

[Abilities]

Unless his above average intelligence counts, he really doesn't have any special abilities or powers.

[Other important stuff]

I think Howard will continue life as usual in Somarium. He'll probably view it as an opportunity to be even more productive than he usually is.

He also like's fondue for some strange reason.

[Sample Post]

[First Person]
There is a cake in the rain. What do you do?

Not eat it? Who in their right mind would eat a soggy cake? Would you? No, I didn't think so. Next question. Soggy cake--hah.

Oh, look! There's a double rainbow!

Do you know what causes a double rainbow? It's caused by light reflecting twice inside water droplets. You'll note that the colors are not as bright as the primary rainbow and that the colors are flipped-- [He doesn't get the joke here.]

How is space?

Wait, what? No one's been to space yet, sweetheart and I'm pretty sure it. I don't exactly live under a rock. The Nazis are trying, but I'm pretty sure they won't get very far.

Anyway, it's something I hope I can achieve in my lifetime. It's a sight to see I'm sure.

You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.

It depends on several factors really. Is she hot? Am I busy at the moment? If the answers are yes and no respectively, then I'd agree. We would go out and have a grand night in town. Dinner, movie, dancing...the works. Anything she wants she'll get. I like to think I'm a flexible guy.

Do you prefer adventure or the peaceful life?

Adventure, of course. It's hard for me to imagine life without it. I would rather just dig my own grave and die in it than live a peaceful life. No offense to anyone who chooses that path, but--it sounds boring.

You are a given a mission. Would you complete it effectively or would you goof off and do something else? Expand a little on the response.

I would complete it if it's something I'm interested in. I'm certainly no stranger to goofing off, but when it comes to work, it's time to be serious. You can't exactly get anything done without focus, am I right? Sometimes I become a little too obsessed with work, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. My obsession usually produces some pretty good results. Or at least I think so anyway.

[Third Person]

Howard was sitting at his desk, scribbling away on his notepad. He hadn't noticed that Colonel Phillips had arrived and was standing next to him. It was the clearing of the colonel's throat that grabbed his attention.

"Ah, colonel. I was hoping you'd come," Howard said as he stood up. "I know you're--"

"Spare me the pleasantries, Stark. Show me what you have," the colonel huffed.

"Yes, sir. Right this way."

The young inventor lead Phillips over to table filled with various shield prototypes. He gestured towards them and the colonel picked up one to inspect. Howard could tell by the look on his face that he wasn't exactly impressed. Explaining the mechanics to him would do no good since the colonel didn't care about mechanics; he was only interested in the results.

"I made several so Captain Rogers could have a variety to choose from," Howard said. He reached up and attempted to rub the sleep from his eyes. Once again he had stayed awake til dawn so he could have the prototypes ready on time. He knew that the shields didn't have to be perfect. They were prototypes after all. Yet, leaving them unfinished irked Howard.

"Will they work?" Phillips asked.

"Of course they will." I hope.

"And if they don't?"

"Back to the drawing board?" Howard shrugged and grinned. He folded his arms across his chest. The colonel shook his head and muttered something unintelligible. Howard watched as he placed the shield back onto the table, nodded and left the room.

As soon as Phillips was gone, Howard's grin turned into a frown.

"Congratulations, self," he said. "You've managed to get on his bad side. Again. I'm pretty sure I've set a record by now."

He sighed heavily and looked down at the prototypes before him. That's that I suppose, he thought to himself. Rogers will be a better customer I hope. He looked up and noticed that others in the room were staring at him. Once they saw the stern look on his face, they immediately went back to work. Howard smiled

He walked back over to his desk, sat down and began scribbling once again. Suddenly, the sound of a female voice screaming could be heard coming from another room. Peggy. Howard chuckled.

"This day keeps getting better and better."

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?]This particular muse has been nagging me for a while. Plus, he's just a fun guy when he's not being an ass. :D
[Which rule was your favorite and why?]Be nice to other players. I hate to see other players act rude towards others. It just makes me sad. :( The purpose of the RP is to have fun, not flame people.
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] (Optional) From Peggy!mun and Steve!mun.
[Any questions?] None at the moment.
