I'm poking around and reading and found
this to be stupid. Either her world is very, very small or she's completely unobservant.
So, FL, here's my task for you. Grab a piece of paper and, in your purtiest cursive, scribble "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy hound."

My daughter (now in 5th grade) has had to practice cursive in both 3rd and 4th grade. I haven't seen any this year, though. I always tell her when she gets frustrated to remember she only has to do it the teacher's way for school. Once she's older she can write any way she wants.

I write about half cursive and half print (including signature).
I do think it's important to learn cursive. Not because it's more attractive or professional or anything, but just because it is so much faster to write in cursive than it is to print.
