 I just read this comment regarding the cancellation of the Golden Globes due to the writer's strike. And yes, I am copying the comment in full, because I think he deserves to be mocked by name.

Pathetic. I live for these awards! Love them and wanted to see my favorites. I hate the writers now. They are arrogant and the actors should have crossed

WOW. It's really sad when you "live for these awards." Personally, I find awards shows to be boring and shallow, so I'm kind of glad they've called it off. It's still going to be a news spectacle with the parties and the actors picking up their awards, but they've reduced it from the gala event it was supposed to be. I hope the network loses a LOT of advertising $$ on this one. Seriously.

It's funny/maddening, because the winners are so obviously chosen through politics and other factors before actual talent. It's not just shallow in the sense of the physical. It's shallow beacuse it doesn't mean anything anymore.

The advertisers are going to be pissed.
