Quick thoughts on The Office and 30 Rock, spoilers for tonight, obvs:

The Office:   Drunk Oscar and Andy completely made my life. Especially Oscar and his drunk giggle. Instead of laughing, I could only do a sort of spastic gasping thing. It was not pretty.  Also, Michael is probably the saddest, most touching character since... well I can't think of anyone. He wins. Hands down. I can't imagine anyone not liking this character. It is beyond my comprehension that anyone could hate Michael Scott. Yeah, he screws up and says the wrong thing pretty much all the time, but he's so well-meaning and sweet of heart.

I don't know what to think about Pam coming back with a failing grade. I want to say, boo, try harder, no pain no gain, but at the same time, I gave up a lucrative ten year career because I just wasn't a match with the industry in the end and I had been fooling myself thinking it was what I had to keep doing, just because I thought it would be awesome. It wasn't that it was too hard; it just didn't make me happy. So I can definitely relate. I guess it will depend on how the storyline progresses. I can't imagine her settling back into life in Scranton without some kind of dissatisfaction, but I respect her decision. Which hopefully doesn't have anything to do with lack of Jim!Sex.

Kelly/Ryan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't even express my delight. Maybe I could by strolling out to my car with a spring in my step and making it boop boop more times than necessary.

On to 30 rock:

Um, I probably love Night Court more than I should admit in a public forum. The little end to the show, Kenneth basically writing crappy Night Court fanfic and forcing the actors to act it out (I can think of one or two people in Office fandom who might be down with that), the theme music, etc, etc. Just the idea that sometimes you can never recapture the glory moments of a show. Sad, but true.

My favourite moment of the whole hour, hands down, was when Jennifer Aniston showed up at the party, and they cut to Jack's face. His moment of realization was so perfect - Liz was right (holy crap, he's thinking, Liz Lemon was RIGHT) and then coming to terms with what is about to happen in front of him. It was a brilliant piece of acting.

Okay, I have a ton of things to do before bed. Only 7days till I'm on a plane for South Africa. Woo! Lions and Elephants and Cheetahs, oh my!

ETA: Ugh, my is my LJ cut in grey?
