[35: action/mirror writing]

Sep 12, 2011 21:34

Mark's camping out in the ballroom today, slouched in a folding chair with a book in his lap. On one of the floor-length mirrors, he's written the following message:

?ereht enoyna sI

.klat ot ekil d'I

From time to time he looks up, checking for a response. If he's going to sound mirrors out for cahoots, he wants to do it in person. (More or less.)

yet another mirror rebellion post, conspiracy times, getting shit done, cahoots

Hi Mark.

After a minute or two he looks up and crosses to the mirror.

"Hello."

Ben's gone, and he's spoken to his own mirror privately, so that leaves...

"Sasagawa?"

Yeah, it's me.

Who do you want to talk to?

He shrugs. "Just seeing who's out there. I've spoken to mirrors here before."

Many want to talk, but few are worth listening to.

Mark Meltzer.

I don't...think they've spoken before? Correct me if I'm wrong. paper_knight September 13 2011, 03:37:26 UTC
Cryptic mirrors irritate him by default, but he's trying to keep an open mind, here--his tone is mild and polite.

"Hello. May I ask your name?"

His mirror has, although she keeps an eye on the real one. :D wrath_or_fury September 13 2011, 03:40:16 UTC
Eve.

[She's just biding her time, waiting to hear what he has to say.]

Perfect, that's what I thought. paper_knight September 13 2011, 04:12:55 UTC
"Eve. Are you Miss Carnahan's counterpart, then?"

[They've never spoken, and normally, he wouldn't be the first person to talk to someone he's never met, but...

He might be interested. How long that lasts remains to be seen.]

Yes. There's someone there.

What is it?

"Oh."

He sets his reading aside and crosses to the mirror.

"Well. I never see any of you, but you're always there--as much as anyone else in the mansion. We're neighbors. So I'd like to get to know you."

Why would you want to do that?

It's not like we're real. We can't leave the mirrors.

"That's not true at all--you think and feel, don't you? You're not dolls or machines."

[There was so much activity going on lately between both sides of the Mansion. But no one had really asked for what seemed like casual conversation. Minato looked to see who left the message, remembering Mark from seeing him here and there, but had never talked to him before.]

What do you want to talk about?

"I wanted to meet a few of you. Introduce myself properly."

[Minato was about to ask why and wrote the word, but quickly crossed it out.]

I guess that's okay then... [The pen trailed off a bit.]

Can you tell me who you are first? I promise I'll tell you who I am if you tell me first.
