These are, in his made up religion of bokononism, called "False Karasses". A real karass is made up of people who are intertwined spiritually, revolving around a specific item called a Wampeter. the Wampeter can change, waxing and waning through out your life time. However, the people in your karass are out of your control- the people who you just can't seem to keep out of your life. It's possible to only meet some of them once, but you are intertwined none the less. These are the ones who affect you, who get you. It's totally made up and the words are silly, but it makes a lot of sense to me. I'm no bokononist, but I would say not to worry about the people in these made up, superficial groups. What do they really mean in your life? How do they truly contribute? You are amazing and they are missing out.
