I'm baking spent-grain cookies right now. They are based off a recipe that Stephanie posted a few days ago on her fabulous food blog, only I made a few changes... nothing big, added cinnamon, ground up the spent grain in a food processor before adding it to the dough, and didn't use whole wheat flour. Oooooh, I'm glad the recipe worked out for you! I didn't even realize that switching out the pb with butter would make them spread, but you are so right. My shmush 'em method worked out well enough, but spread would be key. Let me know how you work it out for a final recipe, I wanna put this in my cookbook.

And hey, I'm totally a crocheter! I'll teach you how to do complicated patterns--"hard" is a relative term, it's mostly knowing how to read a pattern correctly.

I think adding an egg and butter will make them a bit more cookie like and less like little cakes/muffins (which is how mine turned out!). I will let you know about any changes I play with.

and yay, crocheting will have to be a project for one of our craft nights!
