I'll keep my band-dork hidden and refrain from mentioning that they ARE good if you're interested in marching band...hahaha. RIGHT.
Anyway, dude- just come to McGill. There you have it. A backup school in the states, and then McGill as your first choice. Just trust me. I'm dead serious.
Well it's like $13,000 CAD per year for tuition for American students. For me, a Canadian citizen, it's $4,600 until I get Quebec residency which they're saying will happen in the next semester- then it drops to $1,600. McGill is 24th in the world, 12th in North America, 1st in Canada. That's EXTREMELY cheap. Even the international tuition. Total I'm paying with all expenses and moving in should be $20,000 CAD or so for the first year. I've really hooked up my dorm room, so it might come out to like $25,000 CAD+. I didn't qualify for financial aid, but if you do- that's even less. The only thing is that McGill rarely gives scholarship because you have to be in the top 5% of your graduating class to qualify and then apply, so that rules me out immediately. Some people get it, and then get nice perks too
( ... )
Im just curious as to HOW you found out about McGill? I mean, there's so many schools out there...where the hell did you go about looking for schools in Canada?
I'll definitely check it out. I MISS YOU, BRADLEY!!! Will you ever visit?
Well my dad and 4 of my uncles went to McGill, and my cousin Laura just graduated from the Neuroscience programme- she's starting at UToronto for Medical School next month. I found out about it that way, and then did some intensive research about the music school, because unlike American schools word of mouth pretty much is nonexistent (since none of my family went to the school of music).
Go to Wikipedia and search for McGill University if you want, because there's like a G-10 or something at the bottom of the McGill profile where a lot of the top Canadian schools are listed. All of them are cheaper than studying in the states by a lot.
Also, I will try my best to visit. I think the earliest will be Christmas, though- but I will make my best effort to visit NWSA and see all you SENIORS!!! (Didn't this year just sneak up?)
